The Gurnos estate in Merthyr has been officially revealed as the happiest place in Wales.
The announcement came as the 1950’s housing estate took 7th place in the UK overall.
Local mayor Adrian Dipshit told WalesOnCraic:
“This comes as no surprise to me – I often wander around Gurnos and everyone looks so happy here – they’ve always got wide grins on their faces. Everyone here is so chilled and relaxed – it’s like they have found that magic ingredient to life. You see people pulling up in their Ford Escorts and delivering little gifts to total strangers – it’s that kind of community spirit which has gone towards securing this wonderful achievement.”
Local resident Jean Slackflaps added:
“I don’t need to work – in fact, I don’t need to do anything. I can just sit around all day relaxing. It’s great. And I’ve got so many kids, that they all look after me, bringing me food and drink all day long. I’d highly recommend anyone coming up here and spending the day with us to see how happy we are.”
