Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has successfully sold pork to the Russians at a high-level meeting in Moscow.
Truss successfully opened up pork markets in China back in 2014.
A spokeswoman for Ms Truss told WalesOnCraic:
“The Russians can bully us all they like but Liz has a canny knack of opening up pork market in communist countries. Back in 2014, Liz proclaimed that she had successfully opened up pork markets in China, which is renowned for not having not many pork markets. Today, Liz has done it again. She bought some pork from Lidl cos it was on offer and took it with her in a handy cool bag. When she got to the meeting, she whipped it out and before they knew it, they’d bought the whole lot. We are so proud of this woman’s achievements.”
Ms Truss is also hoping to sell some cheese at the meeting, which is aimed at de-escalating tensions in the area.
“She’s got some lovely Cheddar in her bag,” added the spokeswoman.
