Bedlinog resident becomes first to own Mini Metro

A resident from Bedlinog has become the proud owner of the village’s first Mini Metro.

Ethel Thunderbuns picked up her new set of wheels last Friday, and has been cruising around the village to show off ever since.

She told WalesOnCraic:

“I’m not normally one to show off but I’ve never had anything new before. I’ve been saving up for this new car for the last 40 years and it’s only now that I can afford to buy it so I think I’m allowed to flash the cash. I picked up my Metro 1.3HLS last week. It’s already got a little bit of rust on it but that’s ok because the man in the showrom said that they all come like that. It adds a bit of character to the machine. I’ve been driving around the village, playing Richard Clayderman at full blast on my stereo all week now.”

Villagers have said that Ethel has become a nuisance in the last week or so.

“She’s been out doing donuts in the car park of Kwik Save. I don’t know what’s come over her since she’s got this new car. I think she thinks that she’s Nigel Mansell. And she’s not. She’s Ethel,” said resident Steve Gumboots.
