A woman has been mugged by Lawrence of Arabia while out enjoying a picnic at Merthyr Mawr sand dunes.
Betty Widegirth, from Neath, told WalesOnCraic:
“I was just tucking into a mini scotch egg from my 22 piece picnic selection pack, when this great brute came charging up on his camel and told me that he was Lawrence of Arabia. He then demanded that I hand over my phone and mini scotch egg. As I reached for my phone, I dropped my mini scotch egg and it went rolling off down the sand dune. It was awful.”
The assailant then fled on his camel, only to turn around and come back as his big white headscarf got caught in passing tree. He then fled again.
“I shat myself to be honest.” said Betty. “It’s a shame that in this day and age that you can’t enjoy a quiet picnic on your own without some thug coming up and demanding your phone and mini scotch egg.”
Betty later recovered her lost mini scotch egg and took it home for her cat, Tiddles.
