Management at Sports Direct have taken a team-building trip to the year 1536.
Their aim was to do some zip-wiring and to see how the Welsh language could be subdued on a daily basis.
Manager Gary Widegunt said:
“We can’t go having people here in Wales speaking the Welsh language. It’s just not on. We ban all our staff from talking any other kind of language too. We’ve taken this day out back to 1536 to see how Henry VIII did stuff. It was great. We ate feasts, jousted with horses and long pointy sticks before getting down to the nitty gritty of subduing local language. It was a bit of a pain as some people only spoke Welsh on the course so we had to pay for some interpreters but we didn’t let it spoil our day out.”
Course director Henry LardArse said:
“Our courses set in have become a popular in recent years. We did have a stand at the Eisteddfod but someone kicked it over.”
