Welsh football fans are tonight standing around pubs and clubs, not sure how to react to the news that Wales are currently top of their group in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.
“I’ve never been in this situation before.” said Wales fan Brian Beerbelly. “I don’t know what to do with myself. Do I cheer at the Welsh win or do I sit back and wait for it all to go to shit? I’m usually sat here moaning how crap we are but I don’t want to talk about how good we are because it doesn’t seem right.”
Wales leapt to the top of their group table by demolishing the highly-regarded European country Israel. Gareth Bale scored twice to bring his tally of international goals to 16.
Coach Chris Coleman told the press:
“Obviously the lads gave it 100% and all credit to the other team obviously but we’ll take the positives from this game obviously and take it one game at a time. I told the lads before the game to ‘go out there and enjoy it’ and all credit to them, the lads went out there and gave it 100%. We’ll take the positives from this game now obviously and erm…yeah.”
