Charity shops across Wales have reported being overwhelmed by people’s unwanted goods.
One charity shop manager said that she was ‘inundated with shit’, and spent 30 minutes trying to get through the front door after people had dumped bags outside.
Sheila LadyGarden, who manages a local charity shop, told WalesOnCraic:
“We’ve got shit everywhere. I couldn’t get into work this morning because people had dumped their shit outside. After we dragged all the shit in, staff members spent all day working their way through it all. It’s quite clear that people have been saving up all their shit during lockdown and have been waiting all this time to unload it onto us. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a huge amount of shit. And I live in Nelson!”
Charity shops, like other shops on the high street, have reopened following the extensive lockdown.
