The world’s first bean-flicking competition is set to take place in the Welsh town of Cowbridge this weekend.

Organisers say the inaugural competition sold out in days.

Competition boss Fanny Tingle told WalesOnCraic:

“We had the idea for the competition when we was down the pub. One of my mates was having a breakfast when she dropped some beans on the table. For a laugh, she started flicking them and within the hour, we’d set up a target on the wall so that she could flick her beans at those.

“After a few more Babychams, we’d organised a national competition and booked a venue in Cowbridge. Tickets for the event sold out in hours! We have 32 competitors who will face a knockout-style competition over two days. Let the bean-flicking commence!”

Bean-flicker fan Percy Parker said:

“I booked my tickets as soon as I saw it announced. I can’t wait to see all these beans being flicked. It’s the sort of thing I’d usually watch on the internet but these days, I have to prove my age and I’m not prepared to give that kind of information away.”

The event starts this Saturday and organisers say it’ll be fun for all the family.
