A man from Treorchy has received a speeding fine after he walked to his local Kwik Save store to buy bread.

Brendon BigBollocks was caught speeding by the Income Collection Department of the local police force.

He told WalesOnCraic:

“I was going to the shop to get some bread because my greedy wife keeps making crisps sandwiches so I left in a hurry and went my usual route. I knew I had to get there before the shops shut so I could say that I was almost jogging.

“What I didn’t know was that I was in a 20 mph zone. It was a few weeks later that I had a letter from the local police, saying that I’d been caught speeding. I argued that I didn’t have my car with me but they said that I was doing more than the speed limit. I almost spat out my chardonnay. I now have to pay £75 or go on a full day speed awareness course.”

A spokeswoman for the police said:

“We don’t comment on individual cases but as far as Mr BigBollocks goes, we should be throwing him in jail, the speed he was going.”

Mr BigBollocks intends to appeal the fine if he can be arsed to get around to it.
