Trump aiming to buy Steep Holm to use as golf course

US President Donald Trump is reportedly in talks to buy an island in the middle of the Bristol Channel so that he can convert it into a golf course.

Trump says the island of Steep Holm is an ideal place for him and his friends to hang out when he visits the UK again.

Mr Trump said:

“I'm looking very strongly at buying Steep Holm, an incredible island, absolutely perfect for a world-class golf course, everybody's talking about it. It's in the Bristol Channel - great location, very strategic, tremendous potential—nobody else saw it, but I did.

“Imagine playing 18 holes surrounded by ocean, beautiful cliffs, historic vibes, it's going to be like Scotland but with better weather because I’ll make it better. People said, ‘Donald, why Steep Holm?’ and I said, ‘Because I have vision, and golfers deserve the best.’ Once I get it, we’ll have the Trump Steep Holm International, only the best, very exclusive, very elite, probably the best island golf course in the world.”

Steep Holm is currently inhabited by a few birds and a few dilapidated buildings.

“We’ll concrete over those,” added Mr Trump. “Concrete, the likes of which, you’ve never seen before.”
