A man from Bridgend has responded to his wife’s 3,000 word text by sending her a ‘thumbs up’ emoji.
Gary Wondergunt said the emoji saved him labouriously typing out a 5,000 word reply to his wife’s interrogation as to whether he had put the bins out like he said he would.
He told WalesOnCraic:
“I was sat there watching Bangers and Cash when I suddenly started getting texts from my wife. I was about to reply to the first one but another one came. I went to reply to the second one but then a third one came in. I waited to see if a fourth text came in, which it did, followed by a fifth and a sixth, and this went on for at least 45 minutes. All she was asking was whether I had put the bins out like I said I would.
“Her messages were a mixture of questions and reminders of past failures, like the time I forgot to put the food bin out and we had fruit flies. When my missis had finished texting, I gave her a 20 minute window in case there was anything else she wanted to add, and then I sent a ‘thumbs up’ emoji as my reply.”
Mr Wondergunt’s wife was reportedly not happy with her husband’s reponse.
“He could have responded properly with actual words. A thumb is NOT a reponse.”
The couple have since made up their differences with a Chinese meal and a 20 minute love-making session.
