BREAKING: Patch of blue sky spotted over Wales
Eyewitnesses say the blue sky appeared at daybreak, following years of heavy rain
A patch of blue sky has appeared over Wales, blinding onlookers and throwing lives into chaos.
Eyewitnesses say the blue sky appeared at daybreak, following years of heavy rain, and is currently moving eastward.
Eyewitness Jimmy TwoPorches told WalesOnCraic:
“I woke up early because I’d shat the bed and as I was taking my bedclothes down to the washing machine for my wife to wash, I noticed that there was a strange light coming in from outside.
“I looked out of the window and was almost blinded by the light. I can usually see over the road to see Mrs Jones getting showered but today, the light was so bright that I had to reel back dramatically, like someone would in one of those sci-fi films. It took me a few hours for my eyes to become adjusted and then when I looked out of the window, I could see a patch of blue sky. I phoned the police and then the local newspaper, who sent someone out to me pointing at the sky.”
The blue sky has also thrown people’s routines into turmoil.
“I’ve been tumble-drying my clothes since August last year but with this blue sky, I’m now tempted to hang my washing on the line. It’s put me in quite the predicament,” said housewife Ethel Wondergunt.
The blue sky isn’t expected to last with rain forecast for later on in the week.
