A&E Departments Swamped With Cases of Sunstroke and Sunburn As Wales Swelters In 15°C Heat
As millions flocked to the beaches to cool off, A&E departments were struggling to accommodate the thousands of sun-worshippers who spent too long in the sun
Accident and Emergency Departments across Wales have been swamped with cases of sunstroke and sunburn as temperatures rocketed to a searing 15°C.
As millions flocked to the beaches to cool off, A&E departments were struggling to accommodate the thousands of sun-worshippers who spent too long in the sun.
Nurse Gladys Emmanuel told WalesOnCraic:
“It’s facking bonkers. We’ve got a queue right round the block of people with massive red faces. It’s like something out of a horror movie. You’d think that most people would use common sense in this heat but clearly not. There’ll be a few glow-in-the-dark people out tonight, that’s for sure.”
Out-patient Derek Sunbeam said:
“I only went out to pick up the cat shit from my front garden and by the time I’d got back in, my entire face was red. I’m so annoyed as I’d only just mowed my lawn too – trust that feline twat to come along and ruin my weekend.”
Temperatures are expected to top 15°C and media outlets are warning people not to go out in direct sunlight.
