A woman has left home to go shopping, worrying that she hasn’t locked her front door after she specifically locked her front door.
Gladys Fretter was headed to Kwik Save to pick up some bleach but had to head back home to check that she’d locked her door.
She told WalesOnCraic:
“I was pretty sure I’d locked it because as I was locking it, I was telling myself that I was locking it. I even said to myself as I was locking the door that I was locking my door. Locking my door is something I do every time I leave the house but I can never remember locking the door, even if I have locked the door, and even if I tell myself that I am locking my door so that I remember that I am locking my door. I had to head home from the shop to check that I had locked the door and when I got home, I found that I had locked the door, which I knew anyway because I always lock the door and I always tell myself that I’m locking the door so that I remember locking the door.”
Husband Jim added:
“She didn’t lock it because I locked it which is why I have the key still in my pocket.”
