Pubs across Wales will be serving soup in pint glasses from Friday onwards.
The soups will be cold and fizzy, and taste remarkably like beer.
One pub owner told WalesOnCraic:
“We’ve been royally shafted these last few months. I don’t know my arse from my elbow any more so we’ve had to think up ways to get around these new restrictions of selling beer. We’ve decided to sell cold, fizzy soup, in pint glasses to get around the new regulations. The soup will taste like beer, smell like beer, and if you eat too much of it, will end up on the pub floor with a bit of sawdust.”
One pub-goer told WalesOnCraic:
“I likes to go down the pub and drink beer but I’m putting my foot down with this new soup in a pint glass. I’m going to start a petition to bring back cold, fizzy beer in a pint glass so that I can get shit-faced with my mates.”
