Pensioners across Wales have taken their fleeces from their wardrobes ready for the first day of September.
Sgt. Peter Collins Plod of the Fleece Police warned that pensioners are expected to don their fleeces whatever the temperature.
He told WalesOnCraic:
“For many pensioners across Wales already have their fleeces hung up ready for the September 1st. We need to notify the public that whatever the weather, those pensioners will be out in force with their wolves, their donkeys and their puppies. We warn the public not to approach pensioners to point out that it’s still 30 degrees outside. This could result in a walking stick across the face.”
One pensioner said:
“During the war, we never had such things as fleeces.”
