The word ‘tooth’ to be correctly dubbed into toothpaste ads for Welsh viewers

Posted on

The word ‘tooth’ is to be correctly dubbed into toothpaste adverts on TV for Welsh viewers.

The news follows complaints that TV adverts for brands such as Sensodyne have been repeatedly pronouncing the word ‘tooth’ incorrectly.

A spokesman for the TV Complaints Commission told WalesOnCraic:

“For years, they’ve been getting this wrong. It’s clearly ‘tooth’ pronounced ‘tuth’ as most normal people say it. We’ve had to hire people to do voiceovers for Welsh viewers so that they can understand what it going on. I’ve had a few people saying that the word ‘tooth’ should be pronounced like the word ‘booth’ but that’s a crock of shit so that’s all I’m going to say on the matter.”

A spokesman for the Association of Toothpastes said:

“Meh.”
