Self-Employed Workers To Stage Strike Over Pay And Working Conditions

Self-employed people across Wales have voted to go on a one day strike in October in protest at pay and working conditions.

The workers are unhappy that they receive no statutory sick pay or holiday pay.

One worker told WalesOnCraic:

“I get up at sparrow’s fart seven days a week to work. By the time I get home, it’s dark again. If I’m sick, I have to work. And as for holidays? I take 20 minutes each night to sit on the toilet and relax. That’s my holiday right there! We shouldn’t be working in these conditions in this day and age. So we’re going on strike so that everyone in Wales will feel sorry for us and do something about it. If they don’t feel sorry for us at the first strike, we’ll keep striking again until they do. I’m hoping to get Jeremy Corbyn down to have a chat with us about it.”

But housewife Lesley Slackflaps wasn’t impressed.

“Who’s going to come and paint my fucking house now?” she said “This walkout is a disgrace. I hope they all get sacked.”
