Owen Farrell promises to use arms during the Rugby World Cup

England rugby player Owen Farrell has promised to use his arms during this year’s Rugby World Cup.

The England fly-half traditionally uses his shoulder to tackle opposing players.

A spokesman for Rugby England told WalesOnCraic:

“Owen’s a tough player but he has promised to be a good boy and at least try and look as if he’s going to use his arms in the tackle. We’ve told him to wave his arms about a bit before he goes in for the crunch, just so that everyone can see that he’s giving it a go with his arms. The lad has come in for some flak in recent times, especially for using his shoulder to tackle people but like he said, his shoulder is technically an extension of his arm so what’s the problem?”

World Cup officials have promised to send Farrell home if he doesn’t use his arms in the tackle.

“We’ll send the boy home if he doesn’t use his arms in the tackle,” she said.
