NZ Lions win, 5 Triple Crowns and 3 Grand Slams – Labour’s plan to take UK back to 70’s appeals to Welsh electorate

Labour’s plans to take the UK back to the 1970s has struck a chord with the Welsh electorate, according to some clever bastard.

Simon ‘Raleigh’ Chopper said that as far as the Welsh are concerned, going back to the 1970s is no bad thing.

He told WalesOnCraic:

“Back in the 70s, we had the likes of Barry, Gareth, JPR and Merv to carry us through. We had a Lions series win in New Zealand. We had 5 Triple Crowns. We had 3 Grand Slams. We had long, hot summers instead of the shitty ones we get now under the Conservative government. We even had Flying Saucers, Fizzy Cola Bottles, Spanish Gold Sweet Tobacco, Black Jacks, Anglo Bubbly Bubble Gum, Fizz Wiz Cherry Popping Candy, Wham Bars, Drumsticks – Original (Raspberry and Milk), Fizz Wiz Strawberry Popping Candy, Love Hearts, Barratts Hard Liquorice. Man, those times were good. You can see why Labour’s trick of taking everyone back to the 1970s appeals so much.”

However, one critic pointed out that Gary Glitter was also in the charts in the 70s.

“Not sure where he is now – probably rotting in a Thai jail somewhere.”
