National Cwtch Day 2017 date revealed

The date of this year’s National Cwtch Day has been revealed as 25th January – the same as it was last year.

The day traditionally sees the people of Wales going around cwtching each other.

Cwtching fan Richard Grabalot told WalesOnCraic:

“National Cwtch Day is my favourite day of the year. It means I can go to work, cwtch anyone I want on the bus and then when I do get to work, it means I can walk in and cwtch anyone I want without fear of being reprimanded. I likes nothing more than a good cwtch. They’re free to give, make you feel a million dollars and best of all, you get a lot back as a result. I’m all for it.”

Shop manager Eric Pickled said:

“We do notice a brisk rise in trade leading up to National Cwtch Day. On the day itself, it’s a joy to come to work because people actually like me for a day. They hate me the rest of the year of course, but for once, it’s nice to feel as a little bit human.

The day falls on the same day as St Dwynwen’s Day – the Welsh equivalent of Valentine’s Day.
