Former Conservative chair Nadhim Zahawi is set to start a new career in Greggs following his sacking from Government.
Zahawi will be kept away from the tills and just be allowed to hand out sausage rolls and steak bakes instead.
A spokesman for Greggs in Merthyr told WalesOnCraic:
“We’re delighted to have Mr Zahawi starting in our shop. He’ll be joining Terry and Gladys, who are also starting new roles in our store on Monday. Nadhim will go through the same rigorous training as all our other staff but we will be keeping him away from our tills though – just in case.”
Mr Zahawi was sacked from his government position after found guilty of breaking the ministerial code.
A spokeswoman for Downing Street added:
“We’ll be forwarding his stable heating invoices onto Greggs as and when they come in.”
