Gavin Henson statue to fill vacant Edward Colston plinth

Posted on

A statue of Gavin Henson is set to replace the empty plinth once occupied by Edward Colston.

Former Bristol player Henson is adored by every single living Bristolian, apart from the one that twatted him in the face in a pub that time.

A Council spokeswoman told WalesOnCraic:

“We are glad to see the back of Edward as he was a bit of a twat and it didn’t take us long to come up with a replacement. We’ve all loved Gavin since we saw him and his shiny legs kicking over that goal back in 2005. When he came to play for us here at Bristol, I was throbbing for the entire year. So at a meeting last night, we’ve decided to put a statue of Gavin where Edward was. I’ve decided that I’d like to do the sculpture myself which means that he’ll have to come and pose naked for me for weeks on end, which I’ll just have to do. Someone’s going to have to do it. We’ll then look to unveil the statue in time for Christmas so I can put a nice Santa hat on it.”

The statue of Edward Colston was toppled by protesters on the weekend. He was thrown into Bristol Docks and scored a 4.8 for his perfect forward roll and twist.
