Garden Chair Blown Over As Gales Batter Wales

A garden chair in Cardiff has been blown over as gales continue to batter Wales.

Owner Glenda Pimple spotted the chair when she opened her curtains this morning.

She told WalesOnCraic:

“I like to leave my garden furniture in a fairly casual setting, but with my chairs placed around the table in case friends come over and look out into my garden. I want them to think that I can do al fresco cooking at the drop of a hat. You can imagine my distress this morning when I looked out and saw that one of the chairs had fallen over. I’ve no idea what time of the morning it happened – I thought that I heard some clattering during the night but I later discovered that that was my husband Roy going for a late night dump.”

Glenda’s chair has since been recovered by Roy. He said:

“These high winds are causing chaos around the country. Just got off the phone to my butty in Swansea and he said that a plastic bag had blown into his garden from outside. I blame global warming. We will rebuild.”

Winds are set to ease tomorrow when the full scale of the destruction will be revealed.
