Friends call ambulance for woman who turned up for work with no makeup on

Friends in Cardiff have called for an ambulance for a woman who turned up for work with no makeup on.

The friends, who didn’t recognise their co-worker at first, thought the woman was seriously ill.

Mary ‘Jugs’ Layabout told WalesOnCraic:

“I was just setting up the shop for the day when this woman came in. At first, I thought she’d bypassed security and had come into the shop before we’d opened. I told her that we weren’t open yet and she just looked at me blankly. I repeated that we weren’t open yet and then she said ‘Morning’. It was only then that I realised that it was Glenda. She looked horrendous. Her face was pale, her eyes were sunken into her head and her lips just looked like that they weren’t there. She looked as if she was about to collapse. I ran over to her and asked if she was ok. She said she was ok but I could tell that she looked seriously ill so I called an ambulance and she was carted away.”

The woman, who didn’t want to be named as Mandy WideGirth said later:

“I hadn’t had time to do my makeup at home like I usually do so I thought I’d do it in work. I won’t be making that mistake again.”
