Dead bird found among supermarket chicken

A dead bird has been found among a batch of supermarket chickens.

Staff at Kwik Mart in Pwllheli spotted the dead bird in a crate full of chicken and called the RSPCA.

Store manager Debbie Bifold told WalesOnCraic:

“I don’t know how it got in there. I’d asked Bernie to stick the chicken in the fridges because it was coming up to Sunday and we knows that people likes to eat chicken on Sundays. But only a few minutes after sending Bernie in, I heard this almighty scream and when I arrived on scene, there was this dead bird in among all the chickens. We immediately made a cup of tea to decide what to do next and then we made a decision and went to the press with our story. I’m hoping we make the front of the local papers because my husband was on the front of one last year and I’ve never heard the end of it.”

Several members of staff have been sent home with trauma following the incident.

“This poor bird. I don’t know what happened to him but may he rest in peace.”
