Dave from down the pub has officially become Swansea’s most distinguished virologist.
Dave, a builder by trade, was voted Swansea’s Most Trusted Virologist in an online survey last night.
Dave told WalesOnCraic:
“Obviously, it’s an honour to win such a title, but it’s not about me, it’s about the team behind me. My wife Mandy gives me all the latest news and information about what’s going on in the world of Covid from Facebook and I then relay that to the lads down the pub. I’ve never won anything before in my life apart from a binbag of cushions at a church jumble sale. It’s hard fitting in all my knowledge with that from my day job. Sometimes I get the two mixed up and when someone asks me about genome sequences, I think that they’re talking about a lineup of garden gnomes. That doesn’t stop me passing all my knowledge onto the lads though.”
When pressed about what his career in virology might develop over the next few years, Dave said:
“Viri what? What’s that then?”
