Bedlinog welcomes new Ceefax service

Posted on

Bedlinog has welcomed in a new hi-tech teletext information service, which will allow users to keep up to date with the latest news, sport and weather.

The new service will revolutionise the way that Bedlinog residents use their TV sets.

One resident told WalesOnCraic:

“We’ve got one of those posh tellies – you know, the ones that are in colour. And we’ve just tried out the new Ceefax service. It’s great. My favourite page is 100 becuase it allows me to see the new headlines at a glance. Instantly, I can see if Neil Kinnock has been up to no good or whether the miners have gone on strike again. Following that, I like page 300 onwards because it provides me with the latest sport news. The new service allows me to check the latest scores and to keep up with my favourite player – Ian Rush.”

The new service is part of a modernisation of Bedlinog, which has also seen the introduction of the village’s first automatic washing machine.

“This place has come a long way since 1952,” said one resident. “We are very lucky to be living in the 20th century.”
