Barry Island Fairground To Re-Open As David Hasselhoff Theme Park in 2015

Barry Island Pleasure Park is set to become a David Hasselhoff Theme Park from spring 2015.

The pleasure park, once famed for its fairground, currently lies abandoned due to failed projects. But Barry Council have just announced that the park will be open from Easter 2015 – and it will be known as World Of Hoff.

Council spokesman, Gordon Brogue, told WalesOnCraic:

“We have great delight in announcing that the park will be re-opening under a new name. We have some new rides – including the David Hasselhoff Log Flume, the David Hasselhoff Roller Coaster and the David Hasselhoff Jungle Ride. We are also delighted to announce that this theme park will be open day and knight…knight….get it? Oh, I’m hilarious!”

Critics are dismayed that the theme park will be based around the American actor, singer, producer, and businessman. Hayley Fatlip told WalesOnCraic:

“Why him? He’s not even Welsh. Ok, so he married a Welsh girl but why couldn’t we have it based on someone Welsh – like Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen or Carol Vorderman. It’s just not right.”

Council officials are hoping that the man himself will be there to open the park, although his agent told WalesOnCraic that he’s probably washing his hair that night. The exact date of opening is yet to be decided.
