Bale’s penalty miss found on International Space Station

Gareth Bale’s penalty miss from his game against Turkey has been found on the International Space Station.

Astronauts found the ball lodged in one of the waste nozzles a few hours after it left Earth.

Astronaut Glenn Buzby told WalesOnCraic:

“I thought I heard something bump against the outside of the station overnight but I thought it was probably an alien or something. It was only when we were doing a routine inspection to the outside of the station that we found the ball. We knew it was Bale’s because we’d been watching the game earlier and recognised it off the telly. We successfully retrieved the ball and hope to reunite it with him when Wales win this year’s Euros.”

Bale missed a penalty kick in the second half of Wales’s group game against Turkey. The ball left Earth at a near 90 degree angle and disappeared into the night sky. Wales went on to win the game, despite the penalty miss.
