‘Yew f*cking ter-wat’ voted most heart-warming moment in Welsh cinema

A scene from Twin Town has been voted the most heart-warming scene in Welsh cinema history.

The famous scene involves Fatty Lewis falling off a ladder and his boss Bryn Cartwright, popping his head out the window and lovingly calling him a ‘f*cking terwat’.

Bryn Cartwright, who starred in the 1997 Swansea documentary told WalesOnCraic:

“I remember the scene well. They were busy putting up the old shamonga when Fatty reached for a piece of wood. I think he overstretched himself and came crashing through outside my office window. I was on the phone at the time and I remember putting my head out and seeing him lying there. I didn’t know he’d broken his leg at the time so I jokingly said ‘You f*cking ter-wat’ because that’s what we all call each other down here in Swansea innit? The scene was caught on camera and was kept in the film. I’m glad to hear that it has been voted the most heart-warming scene in Welsh cinema history. Now here’s twenty quid to go buy yourself a can of sticky-sticky.”

Jeremy Lewis, who also appeared in the documentary said:

“Why is it that a 2 litre bottle of coke costs 27 pence, but a 1 litre bottle costs 37 pence?”
