The new North Wales version of the Amazon Echo has a new feature that sees it speak Welsh only when English speakers enter the room.
The new feature is designed to put English speakers in a mild state of confusion and paranoia.
Tech expert Andrew FourEyes told WalesOnCraic:
“We’ve listened to what North Walians have to say to us and they wanted this feature above anything else. We’ve had to do some reprogramming but we think we’ve got there. We did a bit of testing over the weekend down the pub and it seems to be working. What we are trying to achieve here is a small sense of confusion and paranoia for English speaking people. We often see English tourists in our villages and the last thing we want to do is make them feel welcome. Our new North Walian Echo converts straight away to speaking Welsh whenever one of these English speakers is detected.”
