Share the Love: Sunday 25th January Officially Announced at ‘National Cwtch Day’

Sunday 25th January has officially been declared National Cwtch Day by popular Welsh website, WalesOnCraic.

The announcement was made by the site’s editor, Royston Butterscotch, as he was eating his Shreddies this morning.

He told the press:

“Sunday 25th January is the perfect day to share a cwtch as it’s St Dwynwen’s Day, the Welsh patron saint of lovers. Sadly, not everyone is a perfect lover as me, but it will still be nice to grab someone, give them a cwtch, and to tell them that you love them – as long as you have permission of course.”

Whilst no longer recognised by the Vatican as being an official saint, Dwynwen – whose names translates to ‘she who leads a blessed life’ – still enjoys great popularity throughout Wales, especially in her home county of Anglesey.

Royston added:

“Bollocks to the Vatican – we can have our own day of love and cwtches. We hope to see lots of hugs and cuddles across Wales.”
