Chris Waddle’s 1990 ‘penalty miss’ found on comet

Chris Waddle’s wayward 1990 penalty football has been found by the Rosetta probe that is closing in on a comet.

The infamous kick, in which English footballer Waddle launched the ball way into deep space instead of the West German’s goal, has never been found – until now.

Space boffins told WalesOnCraic:

“We believe this to be the football that Chris Waddle struck during the 1990 World Cup semi-final. It’s still looking pretty good and we are hopeful that we can retrieve it and post it back to him.”

Waddle, now a pundit on ESPN was delighted on hearing the news. He told WalesOnCraic:

“Thank Christ for that. I’ve been wondering where it got to. Hopefully now, I can finally put that story to bed.”
