Cardiff Half Marathon and Swansea Half Marathon are to be joined together to make a proper one.
The two events, which only do half a marathon each will be hosted in Bridgend, which is halfway between the two cities.
Marathon bosses told WalesOnCraic:
“It seems stupid having two marathons when we can just add them together and get a proper one. The only people who do half marathons are the lazy shits who can’t do a full one. We’re hoping that that this new one will get them off their fat arses and out doing a full 26 miles or whatever it is.”
Runners often run marathons to see how quickly they can put one foot in front of the other.
Runner Jenny Skinnylegs from Pyle said:
“I think it’s a really good idea. I bought myself some new daps last week so this will be a perfect excuse for me to try them out.”
Extra police will be brought in to marshal the event as the two cities hate each other’s guts.
